Study of determination of trace indium by transversely heated tungsten-coating platform graphite furnace atomic absorption spectrometry

The determination of trace indium by transversely heated tungsten-coating platform graphite furnace atomic absorption spectrometry has been studied on TAS- 990 atomic absorption spectrophotometer. The results indicate that the tangsten-coating platform graphite tube could enhance the sensitivity of determination of indium. In four chemical modifiers (Ag, Ni, La and Pd) examined, the selection of La and Ni is suitable. The determination of trace indium in aluminium, copper, calcium and zinc samples has been performed. In comparison with longitudinally heated tungsten-coating platform graphite tube, the ashing and atomization temperature/time of transversely heated are lower and shorter. The effect of mediums on the sensitivities of determination are of HNO3 > H2SO4 > HCl. The coexistent elements of Al, Zn, Ca, Mg, Na and Cu have been studied. The results indicate that the transversely heated method has stronger anti-interference ability than longitudinally heated method.
