Layer-by-layer self-assembly and catalytic activity of nanostructure ZrO2/SiO2 particles

The SiO2 particles coated by nanostructure ZrO2 prepared by sol-gel method were synthesized by layer-by-layer self-assembly, and its catalytic activity was studied. The nanostructure ZrO2 particles were characterized by TG-DTA, SEM, EDS, XPS and XRD. The results show that the ZrO2 nanopowders on the surface of SiO2 particles are well distributed and compact. The amount of ZrO2 increases with the increase of coating layers, and the structure of this coating is tetragonal phases. The SO42--ZrO2/SiO2 solid super acid has good catalytic activity and can be repeatly used.
