摘要
Fibre tow strands of carbon embedded in epoxy resin were used for shear pullout tests to understand and analyze their interfacial behaviour. The lamina pullout model is evolved employing the interfacial pullout model. A modified semi-empirical model is presented here in order to compute the interfacial parameters. The mesomechanical importance over the postulates of micromechanics in understanding the laminate shear behaviour is also highlighted in the present study. The choice of a suitable breadth to depth/thickness ratio in the evaluation of shear strength is discussed.
