A new technique for refining Li2 CO3 based on Pitzer model

The raw lithium carbonate got from the concentrated water of Zabuye Lake can reach a purity of over 80%. Treated with the traditional acid-method, the refined product fluctuates in quality and yield. Based on Pitzer model, the phase diagram of Li+, Na+//Cl-, CO32--H2O system was predicted, and the acid-process of refining raw lithium carbonate in Zabuye Salt Lake was analyzed and the reason of fluctuation during experiment was explained. This study brings forward some developments on the refining technique.
