摘要
Circular waviness and radial taper of gas face seal are two important parameters that have important effects on seal's operating performance. As a typical example, the spiral grooved gas face seal was analyzed with the consideration of seal face's waviness and taper through finite element method. At slow speed, amplitude and origination angle of waviness have great effects on spiral grooved gas face seal's operating performances. With the increasing of seal face's positive taper, the stiffness of gas film is obviously increased, but the leakage of seal is also increased.
