This helps in evaluating the resource; makes the extraction cost effective; easy monitoring; mine closure and remediation. Google satellite maps provides image maps that are more precise and accurate such as- images with high degree of detail; infra red technology providing geological aspects; LiDAR terrain models that provide 3D images and study of land. The companies have the choice of working with archived images taken during the normal passage of the satellite or custom imagery that is tasked to provide data for the area of interest among which the archived images is cost effective. Remote sensing is also having some limitations; so the mining companies are advised to consider the weather conditions and use high resolution sensors;
