Bandwidth-enhanced and application of a planar switched parasitic array antenna

摘要
A method of stagger tuned resonant frequency shift is proposed for improving the bandwidth of planar switched parasitic array antenna. By using the active and parasitic elements of different resonant frequencies, the proposed antenna shows dual-resonance characteristics, thus the bandwidth is improved. The principle of the bandwidth-enhanced is investigated by the resonance characteristics of the proposed antenna element. The measured results show that the relative bandwidth is 5% (S11 < -10 dB), about five times over that of the design without the method, and good radiation characteristics over the operation bandwidth is obtained. Finally, a prototype (Logarithm Power Detector and Controller) is developed to verify the main beam dynamic tracking of the moving object around an orbit in the improved bandwidth. ©2010 by Editorial Department of Chinese Journal of Radio Science.
