Innovative production concepts, such as the human-robot collaboration, enable the flexible sharing of assembly tasks by integrating and combining individual strengths. However, the assembly step itself embodies a particular risk and cannot be executed in the presence of human workers and hence requires a novel approach in the field of safety engineering.
