摘要
A study for controlling mass flow rate by using deformable magneto-rheological elastomers was conducted. The elastomers were prepared by mixing ferromagnetic particles with silicone gel materials. The flow of water through straight pipe is controlled by magnetically adjustable hole made in the elastomers. The flow of water, represented with flow coefficient through the whole of elastomers, is effectively controlled by imposing magnetic field. It is found, with an assistance of CFD, that the elastomer is deformed toward the down stream in the controlling section, resulting in strong effect on the flow coefficient.
