Turbo product codes (TPC) have great performance losses over inter-symbol interference (ISI) channels. This paper presents a turbo equalization system combined with TPC to take advantage of the iterative equalization and decoding. The performance under different ISI channels indicates that 1 dB and 2.5 dB gains can be achieved by turbo equalization with LMMSE method. Possibility exist to tradeoff the iterative times between equalization and decoding to minimize the system complexity. EXIT chart analysis verifies the simulation results.
