Landmark-based IP geolocation can gain better IP geolocation performance. However, the accuracy of landmark is still an urgent issue to address. In recent years, these researches are mostly based on address message from Web, such as city, zip code. But the address message can not reect their real geographic information, so they can't accurately evaluate the landmarks. The paper proposes a mechanism using undns to evaluate the accuracy of landmark. The contributions includes: 1) a recursive undns model is proposed to make full use of undns; 2) a Recursive Undns Evaluating Landmarks (RUEL) algorithm is proposed to improve its utility rate. The experimental results show that using the mechanism proposed in this paper, the accuracy of landmark can be improved, which in turn makes the median error distance of IP geolocation system reduced to 9.60 km from 14.15 km.
