摘要
A metamaterial based on Dirac semimetals (DS) is proposed to achieve a multi-window electromagnetic induced transparency (EIT) effect. The impact of geometric parameters on the EIT-like effect is examined, and a switching function can be achieved by adjusting the Fermi level of the DS to 60meV and 220meV. It demonstrates excellent refractive index sensing characteristics when the analyte refractive index is within the range of 1.0-1.1. Finally, it is observed that a superior slow light effect can be obtained with maximum delay time of 3.65ps, 5.22ps and 6.55ps when the Fermi level of the DS is set to 80meV, 100meV and 120meV, respectively. This metamaterial possesses numerous potential applications in actively tunable THz optical devices, including terahertz (THz) filters, active THz switches, refractive index sensors, slow light devices, and more.
