A modeling study on the effects of downwords flowing of the melt frost on reverse cycle defrosting for an air source heat pump

摘要
This paper reports on a modeling analysis for air source heat pump using multi-circuit outdoor coil. A semi-empirical model of the airside defrosting in the four-circuit outdoor coil unit is firstly developed. Using the validated model, the negative effects of the downwards flowing melted frost along the entire outdoor coil surface on defrosting performance are analyzed i.e., taking heat away from the outdoor coil and prolonged defrosting duration.
