Synthesis, characterization and antibacterial activity of new Ni(II), Co(II) and Cu(II) complexes with N,N'-diacylhydrazines

摘要
The present paper describes the new ligand, N'-[4-(4-chhro-phenyl-sulfonyl) benzoyl]-2-oxoimidazolidine-1-carbohydrazide (L) which has been prepared by the reaction of 4-(4-chhrophenylsulfonyl)benzoic acid hydrazide and 2-oxoimidazolidine-1-carbonyl chloride. Also, the complexes [Cu(L-H) 2], [Co(L-H)2(H2O)2] and [Ni(L-H)2(H2O)2] have been prepared and characterized by elemental analyses, magnetic susceptibility, electronic, ESR and IR spectral data. These complexes were tested for their antibacterial activity (against Staphylococcus epidermidis ATCC 14990, Bacillus subtilis ATCC 6633, Bacillus cereus ATCC 14579, Pseudomonas aeruginosa ATCC 9027 and Escherichia coli ATCC11775 strains) comparatively with that of free ligand.
