To join light gauge stainless steel pipe firmly, tin-based filler metal is used and the brazement microstructure is observed. The process measures including higher the heating position, using torch brazing and applying chokes, are posed on the basement of discussion on heating ways, holding time and brazement structure to avoid down-flow and lump of filler metal while filler metal is laying upside down or on level. The brazing joints of light gauge stainless steel pipes with clearances of 0.05 mm, 0.1mm, 0.2 mm, 0.3 mm are drew out, and the test result shows that: the heights of tin-based in the weld promotes with the increase of clearance, while beginning to drop when the clearance is beyond 0.2 mm. The higher capillary height, the larger joint tensile strength.
