An efficient routing protocol based on geographic location information for wireless body area networks

In order to solve the redundant communication and memory overhead and low success rate problems in existing routing protocol for Wireless Body Area Networks (WBANs), we propose in this paper an efficient routing protocol based on geographic location information (ERPBG). The serial number of package is returned when needing to back data; the upper nodes delete the packets which have been sent out by monitoring the MAC layer; the redundant fields of the special hello-req packet are deleted to reduce control overhead. Theoretical analysis and simulation results show that ERPBG outperforms another existing routing protocol RVCR in terms of network overhead, success rate, average end to end delay, and throughput, etc. ©, 2015, Binary Information Press.
