Based on the simulation model of the commoon faults for DC transmission converter in voltage source (VSC-HVDC) system based on the simulation model of the common faults; puts forward a number of natural frequency DC fault location method was proposed was proposed based on compressed sensing. By analyzing the waveform characteristics in frequency domain to optimize over complete dictionary design; then introduce the Dice coefficient of atom matching criterion and the Fourier transform to improve the regularized orthogonal matching pursuit (ROMP) algorithm; realize the accurate fault location of high voltage DC line. By comparing with the testing results for three different fault fault types; fault locations and grounding resistance; the simulation results show that the fault location error is within 0.5%; which indicates that the proposed method has good adaptability and fault location. © 2020; Editorial Board of Acta Energiae Solaris Sinica.
