摘要
North American recycled paperboard producers are expected to retain the price at the level of month of April 2008 due to decreasing demand and higher input costs. North American CRB and uncoated recycled board (URB) producers kept the price same to make volume and orders flowing. The transaction pricing for 20-pt clay coated news and 20-pt uncoated bending chip were unchanged in May 2008 at $735-755/ton and $570-610/ton. With recovered price increased in April and May the estimated cost of old corrugated containers (OCC) US increased 17% in second quarter, 3.5% less than in the first quarter. CRB operating rates decreased from 102.9% of capacity in March, to 94.7% for April, and to 88.6% for the first week of May. CRB unmade orders decreased about from 160,000 tons to 105,000 ton in May. DeltaPoint Capital Management acquired URB and folding carton producer Climax Manufacturing for a deal of $6.9 million.
