摘要:
Some fundamentals of low-temperature silver brazing in joint design are discussed. A complete filling of the joint by capillary attraction is required rather than relying upon the development of a substantial external fillet of brazing alloy to provide the required joint strength. The thicker component in the vicinity of the joint should be relieved so that when flexing occurs the stress is distributed evenly throughout the joint. It is fundamental to good joint design to pay attention to the expansion that different materials experience when being heated to brazing temperature. The right joint clearance is that which fills completely with brazing material by capillary attraction. Studies have found that about 99% of all applications will be completed satisfactorily if the guidelines for joint gap clearances are followed during design of the parts.
