The asymmetric timing synchronization of the coordinated multi-point (CoMP) transmission brings new channel reciprocity errors in the time division duplex (TDD) mode. The timing synchronization reciprocity error (TSRE) is investigated and mathematically modeled. Due to the distribution of TSRE, matrix decomposition and subspace projection are used to derive the upper bound of the per-user rate loss on CoMP downlink transmission. Through the formulas of the upper bound, the performance degradation of the precoding algorithm with different system parameters is analyzed. Simulation results validate the theoretical analysis.
