Reinforced mixing pile is a new kind of composite pile that is formed by driving a rigid core pile into the center of the cement mixing pile, right after the cement mixing pile was constructed. Field loading test of the reinforced mixing piles with stain gauges has been conducted with static heaped loading that is gradually maintained. Q-s curves, axis force-depth curves and skin resistance of all soil layers of the reinforced mixing pile under vertical loading have been studied. Load transfer mechanism and action of skin resistance of the reinforced mixing pile have been analyzed and the formula of its ultimate vertical bearing capacity has been put forward. Experimental results show that the core pile driven in improves the rigidity of the cement mixing pile and bearing capacity of the section, and gives the skin resistance of cement in ultimate states and the strength of the concrete to their full play. As the reinforced mixing pile has the advantages of both cement-soil mixing pile and prefabricated concrete pile including high bearing capacity, small settlement, low costs and high skin resistance, it has great potential as the mixing pile in soft ground.
