Sizing dehumidification (DH) for water tank lining projects shows that sizing depends on the goals for climate control and on all project conditions of the tank such as geographical location, weather conditions, and project specifications. The first step in determining the right equipment that includes preserving the blast-cleaned surface, maintaining surface temperatures for coating application and cure, and providing worker comfort. The problem of of low surface temperatures for the specified coating to be applied or cured can be solved by heating the air inside the tank. Understanding project conditions includes knowing if the applicator is attempting to preserve the cleaned surface and for how long and How many openings does the tank have and that it is well sealed. Understanding weather conditions requires a knowledge of expected dry bulb and dew point temperatures and expected wind speed. To preserve the blast with refrigeration DH, it is also important to re-heat the air after cooling it.
