摘要
Antioxidant activity evaluation by ABTS and DPPH scavenging assays and the corresponding UV-vis spectra of aqueous extracts from Opisthopappus taihangensis (Ling) Shih (Opisthopappus), endemic to China, and its Relatives genera traditional medicine Dendranthema indicum (C indicum) were measured. Moreover, total flavonoid and phenolic contents were determined by aluminum nitrate colorimetric method and Folin-Ciocalteu method respectively. It was found that aqueous extracts from different organs of Opisthopappus and C. indicum possessed some antioxidant activities, related with the extraction concentrations, extraction temperatures and times. Antioxidant activities of leaves and flowers of Opisthopappus, and the flower of C. indicum was prominent, and the activities of aqueous extracts from different organs of Opisthopappus also higher than that of corresponding organs of C. indicum, consistent with their corresponding UV-vis absorption peaks of flavonoids polyphenols within 250~350 nm and the result of total flavonoids and polyphenols content analysis. In addition, the antioxidant activity of aqueous extracts at 90℃ 20 min was distinguished, compatible with their corresponding UV-vis absorption peak, it was demonstrated that the tradition of drinking chrysanthemum tea brewed with boiling water in China has some basis. Therefore, the leaves and stems of Chrysanthemum besides its flowers are available parts, Opisthopappus may be much better for health-promoting and medicinal properties than Relatives genera C. indicum. Huge utilization potential is expected from the whole plant of Opisthopappus. ©, 2015, Chinese Institute of Food Science and Technology. All right reserved.
