摘要
Aside from 1451 standard that focuses on simplifying transducer connectivity to existing control and transmission networks, there are numerous instrument buses, sensor control networks, sensor buses, and fieldbuses have been promoted and implemented. Enhancements for the IEEE 1451 set of standards for smart transducers. In order to obtain accurate time-determined sampling in the network of IEEE 1451 devices, the implementation of the IEEE 1588, the Precision Time Protocol (PTP) is offered. The PTP is applicable to systems that support multicast messaging such as Universal Serial Bus (USB) and enables precise synchronization of the real-time clocks present in the Transducer Interface Modules (TIMs). The use of the IEEE 1588 protocol allows trigger synchronization accuracies of several hundreds of nanoseconds. The use of USB permit standard IEEE 1451.2-1997 to be used with multipoint interfaces having a real-time triggering capabilities.
