摘要
The swift technological progress of inverter-based distributed energy resources (IBDERs) has led to proliferation of such DERs in electric power grids. Despite sequel of advantages, IBDERs integration render serious impacts pertaining to the protection, control, operation, and planning, of power system, particularly at distribution level. Accordingly, this paper aims at exploring the challenges, opportunities, and future trends of IBDER-integrated distribution grids. Via illustrative examples, the new insights on different aspects of protection, control, operation, and planning solutions are drawn and discussed which paves the way for future researches in this area. The struggle is, however, by no means over and extensive future research efforts are to be conducted for leveraging advanced techniques and technologies to address techno-economic concerns. © 2019 Elsevier Inc.
