Simulation and modeling in container terminal logistics system can overcome the limitations of the conventional research method. This paper aims at the simulation of container yard and its application, analyzes the container terminal yard system and the loading/unloading containers by the trucks inside or outside the yard. A queue theory of simulation and modeling in container yard is described and a container yard simulation model is established with the application of eM Plant. Meanwhile, the parameters of simulation model are set according to the examples. Good results are achieved with the application of simulation conclusion.
