摘要
The effect of polyphosphoric acid (PPA) on the surface free energy of asphalt binders was investigated. Different dosage of PPA was added into four selected strategic highway research program (SHRP) binders. Surface free energy of asphalt samples was determined by contact angle method. Results showed that the change of surface free energy of PPA-modified asphalt closely relates to the asphaltene content in original asphalt. After PPA addition, the surface free energy of asphalt containing low asphaltene content showed an increase and then decrease trend, while the surface free energy of asphalt containing high asphaltene content showed a monotonically decrease trend with the increase of PPA addition content.
