Buckling analysis of thin-walled box beams with distortion

摘要
Lateral buckling of a thin-walled box beam was analyzed using generalized variational spline finite member element method. The results agree well with solutions from ANSYS 10 with the results showing that the method is applicable to lateral buckling of thin-walled box beams for any boundary conditions with distortion of the cross section. The method is accurate, fast, and versatile.
