Based on the studies of the features of stress filed in Jinchuan No.2 mining, Gansu Province, pointed out the roadway deformation, damage and the maximum principal stress distribution field has a good relationship, and deformation and failure characteristics has a certain similarity and changed gradually in different sites at different stages. Finally, the roadway deformation and failure models were put forward, and their distribution characteristics were also given, which reasonably explained the deep roadway deformation features, clarified the mechanism of the failure, and proved to be certain guidance for the roadway excavation and support.
