Application of population balance based two-fluid model in numerical simulation of boiling flow of nitrogen

摘要
A new two-fluid model was proposed by coupling the classical two-fluid model and the population balance theory, and necessary closure correlations and boundary conditions were established. The new model, which is based on the classical two-fluid model, includes the population-balance theory and the MUSIG model, as well as the phenomenological models of bubble collision, coalescence and phase change. By incorporating the closure correlations and boundary conditions, the new model can make a good prediction in a wider range than the classical two-fluid model.
