To study the evolution of the pressures and the influencing factors in the process of dump vessel vented, gas explosion experiment in spherical vessel vented into a dump vessel for different volume ratio of the dump vessel and the explosion vessel and different length of pipelines was carried out. It is shown that the maximum pressure of the explosion vessel reduces and the rate of the pressure drop increases with the increase of the dump vessel's volume; that the radio of the dump vessel volume to the explosion vessel is more than or equal to 5, that the maximum pressure in the explosion vessel approximately equals to the maximam pressure of the simple vented;that the maximum pressure of the explosion vessel reduces with the increase of the connecting duct's length; and that the rate of the flame propagation reduces with the increase of the transmission distance and the highest rate of the flame propagation appears at the beginning of the vent opening.
