A control strategy based on Lyapunov stability analysis is proposed for single-phase shunt active power filter, which builds energy-like Lyapunov function to search its global asymptotically stable candidate and then determines the control law of switches. The energy-like function contains the time -varying capacitor voltage and reference current and the system stability is studied from the energy conservation. Because the reference current is acquired without time delay, the dynamic response is fast, so that the system may run stably during big signal disturbance and circuit parameter variation. When load changes abruptly, system reaches a new steady state in one or two cycles. Simulation experiment is carried out for the main circuit with selected parameters, which shows the feasibility and superiority of proposed control strategy.
