Sharing of passenger flow in railway corridors is important to train planning. Considering the influence of transport offer on passenger choices, this paper proposed a two-phase approach to identify the share rate of passenger flow. For the first phase, starting from the travel demand of passengers and taking into account the differences in passenger choices and in passenger flow structures in different corridors, the Logit model was established to compute the share rates of passenger flow by classified passenger flow and classified classes of trains. For the second phase, starting from the transport offer and basing on the method of computing the transfer probability of passengers from one class of train to another class of train according to the utility of passengers, the method for rivision of share rates of passenger flow was designed. The proposed approach was applied in identiflying the share rate of passenger flow in the Wuhan-Guangzhou railway corridor. The results show that the share rate of passenger flow modified in view of transport offer is closer to the actual share rate of passenger flow. ©, 2014, Science Press. All right reserved.
