摘要
This study introduces a switchable privacy mode (SPM) device utilizing homogeneous alignment cells to control the viewing angle of display panels. The SPM device offers a versatile solution for managing the viewing angle in a range of display technologies, including liquid crystal displays, organic light-emitting diodes, and micro-LEDs. By employing two liquid crystal (LC) layers with different properties, the SPM device can effectively switch between privacy and public modes, providing users with the ability to control the visibility of their display content as needed. The proposed SPM device overcomes the limitations of previous technologies by leveraging the complementary effect between two LC layers, resulting in excellent viewing angle characteristics in both privacy and public modes. The development of the SPM device represents a significant step forward in display technology, offering users a valuable tool for enhancing privacy and security while maintaining the functionality and user experience of their display devices.
