摘要
To effectively assess the potential ecological health risks of organophosphate esters (OPEs), this study gave an overview of the global OPE pollution in water and sediment with a focus on their toxic effects on aquatic organisms. The potential toxicity mechanisms were also analyzed in different kinds of biota including plankton, nekton and benthos, and the future research directions and scientific issues in aquatic environmental studies were finally prospected. This study would be helpful for effective assessment of ecological effects and health risks of OPEs. It would also positively promote the food safety monitoring and ecotoxicology research of OPEs, and provide reference for regulating their green applications. © 2021, Editorial Board of China Environmental Science.
