摘要
To analyse the influence of rock bridge angle β and filling conditions on strength, crack propagation and failure mode of rock-like material, Brazilian discs containing three filled or unfilled pre-existing fissures experiments were carried out. The results can be described as follow: The strength of samples decrease firstly, then increase, and decrease finally with the increase of β. After the stress drop, the filled samples perform a transition from brittleness to ductility, while unfilled samples show brittle failure. The propagation and coalescence of wing cracks between two of the three pre-existing fissures result in the final destruction of samples. The strength of filled samples is obviously higher than that of unfilled samples under the same β. According to the acoustic emission characteristic, it can be seen that in the pre-peak phase, the acoustic emission is near constants, and a dramatic acoustic emission appears when the sample reaches the peak and post-peak phase. © 2021, Editorial Board of Journal of CUMT.
