3D-Electron Density Distributions in a Hollow Cathode Discharge

摘要
For the first time, the electron density (N-e) distribution was measured in the plasma region between the edge of a copper hollow cathode and a mesh steel anode, not limited by the side walls. In the central region of the discharge aperture, the electron density decreased in the direction from the cathode to the anode according to a law close to linear, which was associated with the absorption of electrons by the anode. In a number of directions, electrons were observed outside the discharge aperture.
