Effect of the framework structure of 2d-nanofiller plates on the degree of reinforcement of polyurethane/graphene nanocomposites

It is shown that when the percolation threshold of 2D nanofiller is reached, the spatial structure of this nanofiller changes from stochastic to planar. This effect is quantitatively expressed by a change of the framework dimension of the 2D-nanofiller (graphene) plates from 3 to 2. The aspect ratio of graphene tactoids decreases when such transition occurs, which significantly slows down the growth of the nanocomposite parameters as the nanofiller content further increases above its percolation threshold. © 2021 Begell House, Inc.
