摘要
The effects of bentonite content and type on engineering properties of bentonite slurry and backfill were analyzed using Na-activated Ca-bentonite bentonite (Na-CaB) and self-developed polymer-modified bentonite (PMB). Experiment results show that 10.4% and 7% bentonite contents can achieve the workability requirement for Na-CaB slurry and PMB slurry, respectively, according to the influence of bentonite content on the properties (i.e.,pH,density,Marsh funnel viscosity and filtration) of bentonite slurry. PMB backfill is easier to meet workability requirements using lower bentonite content and lower water content,as the required water content is less interfered by the changes in liquid limit.According to the mini-slump tests,a range of water content and a controlled water content are determined for two types of backfill material of the vertical cutoff wall for meeting workability requirements.PMB backfill is easier to meet workability requirements using lower bentonite content and lower water content,as the required water content is less interfered by the changes in liquid limit. © 2024 Huazhong University of Science and Technology.
