Optimization Method of Restoration Decision for the Receiving-end System of Hybrid AC/DC Power Grids Considering Wind Power Uncertainty

With the continuous improvement of wind power penetration rate, the restoration plan is increasingly affected by the uncertainty of accessing wind power. For the receiving end system containing high-voltage direct current transmission (HVDC), the start-up and operation of HVDC during the restoration process has high requirements for the network structure and power scheduling scheme of the AC system. It is of great significance to consider the impact of wind power uncertainty when making restoration decision on the receiving end system fed by HVDC in order to maximize the support power of HVDC to accelerate the system restoration process. Therefore, the paper proposes a restoration decision method of the receiving end system fed by HVDC considering wind power uncertainty. First, the partial-dimensional correlation-aided convex hull uncertainty set (CHUS) is used to characterize the extreme wind power output scenarios. Second, a two-stage adaptive robust restoration model considering the wind power uncertainty and the start-up and operational characteristics of HVDC is established. Then, the start-up and operational characteristics of HVDC are linearized using the adjoint network method. Next, the column and constraint generation algorithm (C&CG) is used to solve the optimization model. Finally, the effectiveness and practically of the proposed method are verified by the New England 10-unit 39-bus case and an actual system from a southwestern province of China. ©2024 Chin.Soc.for Elec.Eng.
