The dynamic characteristics and influencing factors of the moving strip between two hot rolling mills are studied. Considering the supporting effect of looper roll on the moving strip, an equivalent moving beam model is established based on Hamilton theory. At the same time, the partial differential equations are discretized based on the fourth-order Galerkin method, and the ordinary differential equations of the system are obtained. The effects of the strip tension, the rolling speed and the looper roll support stiffness on the dynamic characteristics of the moving strip are explored, and the midpoint position vibration state of the strip is simulated and analyzed. The vibration of roll system causes the perturbation of the strip speed, whose frequency and amplitude are closely related to the vibration intensity of the strip. This study provides a reference for the stability analysis of moving strip between stands and the design of looper control in hot rolling process. © 2024 Tsinghua University. All rights reserved.
