摘要
With the fast development of domestic and international offshore wind power, 66 kV submarine cable shows considerable advantages for its low costs in the processes of power transmission, operation and maintenance on offshore wind farm systems. At present, there are no standards for the structure design of 66 kV submarine cable. In order to specify the technical requirements of 66 kV submarine cables, it is necessary to design a reasonable XLPE insulation thickness for the 66 kV submarine cable. In this work, AC breakdown test and impulse breakdown test are carried out for the 66 kV submarine cable insulation. It is found that the variation of the breakdown strength of XLPE samples with the thickness follows the inverse power law. Then, the submarine cable life indexes (n=13.9 and n=15.1) are obtained based on the step-stress test at 30 ℃ and 90 ℃, respectively. Furthermore, the impulse and AC withstand strength of the 66 kV insulation are tested, and the insulation thickness of 8.9 mm are recommended. The insulation thickness of 66 kV submarine cable designed in this work is thinner compared with the conventional design scheme. The research can provide the theoretical reference and experimental gist for the light 66 kV submarine cable. © 2023 Science Press. All rights reserved.
