An improved proportional resonant control strategy for three phase three level grid-connected inverter

The defect of being weak in tracking sinusoidal signal without static error by traditional PI control in d-q synchronous reference frame can be remedied by proportional resonant (PR) control in α, β stationary frame. Meanwhile, the complex coordinate transformation, decoupling control and feedforward compensation in vector control strategy can be also avoided with the method of PR control. Thus, a control strategy based on improved PR control for neutral point clamped (NPC) three level gridconnected inverter is proposed. On the one hand, the improved PR controller inherits the advantages of PR controller; on the other hand, the improved PR controller broadens the bandwidth of PR controller and reduces the impact caused by the grid frequency offset. In addition, in view of the fact that PR controller can be functioned as a notch filter, an improved PR controller based on harmonic compensation is designed to compensate for the primary low order current harmonics. The validity and effectiveness of the proposed control strategy is verified by the simulation. Copyright © 2014 Binary Information Press.
