摘要：

The importance of software agents for advanced telecommunication services is discussed. It is suggested that software agents offer a promising approach to cope with the ever increasing complexity of service provisioning. They can be used to significantly augment service features, without adding complexity for the end user. Deploying of software agents for advanced on-line telecommunication services requires three important choices which includes selection of technology on which the agents are based, platform on which the agents run and making a decision on the languages and protocols the agents use.
