摘要
The topicality of the determination of ultimate load of ductile fracture for defects such as dents in pipelines is noted. An idealized model of ultimate plastic state of a pipe with a dent infinite in longitudinal direction is suggested. To assess the effect of the finite length of a dent a simplified model for a rectangular dent is proposed. Practical equations for calculating the remaining strength are derived and analyzed in the absence of axial stresses.
