Technological aspects of the formation of a matrix based on polyvinyl alcohol cryogels, its structure, and its physicomechanical and physicochemical properties are presented. The prospects of using the PVA cryogel matrix for the immobilisation of biologically active compounds are discussed. © 2016 Smithers Information Ltd.
