Effectiveness of the vacuum technique in pressure die casting is discussed. Pressure die casting tests are performed to measure the effect of applying a vacuum to the castings. The level of the vacuum applied is about 150 mbar. Pressure drop curves and density measurements are used to compare the porosity levels with different parameters and to evaluate the utility of the technology.
