PIV measurement technique, as an undisturbed full-field velocity measurement method, has important academic significance and practical value. This study aims at elucidating the fundamental structure of gas-liquid two-phase flow in aeration process. In this study, high frame image of gas-liquid two phase flow field is acquired by high speed camera, the velocity distribution of the flow field is obtained by image pre-processing and PIV algorithm, and the rules of flow regime and velocity are analyzed in different conditions. The suggested series of preprocessing method, including moving object segmentation, image denoising and inverting, purposes on effectively reduce the amount of information and errors in the subsequent calculations. The research results will provide the important reference basis for efficiently enhancing aeration efficiency in the industrial applications. © 2015, China Water Power Press. All right reserved.
