摘要
This review delves into the dynamic realm of silk-based formulations tailored for diabetic wound healing, shedding light on the intricate interplay between Silk fibroin (SF) and Silk sericin (SS). SF's fibrous architecture offers mechanical reinforcement and fosters tissue regeneration, complemented by SS's globular structure, which confers anti-inflammatory, anti-oxidant, and anti-bacterial properties. By harnessing the individual attributes of SF and SS and exploring their combined effects, pivotal strides can be made in addressing the foundational challenges of diabetic wound healing. Integrating SF and SS into these formulations amplifies their respective merits and synergistically enhances their therapeutic impact, heralding the advent of multimodal treatment modalities in diabetic wound care. This analysis underscores the versatility of silk-based materials and underscores the imperative of personalized, precision-driven approaches to propel the field forward. Ultimately, the insights gleaned from this review ignite the flame of innovation, charting prospective pathways to elevate the standard of care in diabetic wound management.
