摘要
Based on fiber optic rotary joint applications and its technical characteristics in axial rotation optical communication system, a multichannel broadband fiber optic rotary joint is proposed by using the Dove prism and fiber collimator. By analyzing the optical path in multichannel broadband fiber optic rotary joint, the different output signal offsets are obtained when the transmission wavelengths are 850 nm, 1 310 nm and 1 550 nm, respectively. So the Dove prism structure parameters and fiber collimator optical path can be designed to obtain the optimal broadband coupling efficiency. The experimental results show that the maximum insertion loss of the multichannel broadband fiber optic rotary joint is 4.7 dB in wavelength range of 850-1 550 nm, and the return loss is 43.78 dB. The maximum variation of insertion loss is 2.0 dB in the temperature range of -40-70℃. The experimental results on digital video multiplexing in 1.32 Gbit/s system have demonstrated that the frame loss rate is 0, and the transmission index of Ethernet and video is suitable for the requirements of the actual signals. ©, 2015, Board of Optronics Lasers.
